Family Georgiou has been producing olive oil on our family-owned olive farms at the valleys of a small village in Messenia, Mosxoxori.

Our farm’s history has its roots since 19th century. By gaining traditional knowledge, we have combined modern techniques for our olive collection and oil production. Those techniques add the “extra virgin” to our olive oil.

It is a tradition at least of 2 centuries (1878)
the collection of olives at the fields of “Ktima Georgiou”.

Our extra virgin olive oil comes to you with a unique tasting profile that could be described as fruity, rich & light. The sensational smell of our oil combines fresh olive oil with an earthy and light grassy smell.

Nutritional Value

The nutritional value of olive oil lies in the fact that it has very few carbohydrates and is an important source of monounsaturated fatty acids. This makes it a good element in a low-carb diet. With this nutritional profile, olive oil helps to prevent heart disease, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.

Production

Southern Peloponnesus has been one of the most well-known places in the world, regarding its olives and olive oil production. Especially in our region, Messenia, climate, soil and morphology helps our main ingredient, olives, to grow strong with a rich, earthy flavor and genuine taste. Those attributes form an excellent quality extra virgin olive oil.

From November until the end of January, we usually collect the olives. After that, the refining process follows. Refining is a delicate process which reduces the acidity of the olive oil. It also removes oxidized substances and defects from oils. At the end, olive oil is being stored in big tanks which helps us protect its finest quality.
